Releasing four albums and an EP in little more than five years, Sweden's Lifelover leave an impressive artistic legacy after the tragic death of their main song-writer Jonas Berqvist on September 9th, 2011. This group is widely regarded as a trailblazer for a movement that takes Black Metal as a starting point to experiment with other styles, thus creating an extreme, but unconventionally new kind of music. Lifelover enriched their raw sound with elements from Wave Rock and Post Punk and kept impressing with their unique mixture of punk-like heaviness and lovely melodies. The band members themselves referred to that amalgamation as Narcotic Metal; in spite of, or precisely because of, their polarising attitude, they enjoy a high standing in the scene.
