Rue Octavio Mey / Fleur Des Murailles is the second advance EP for Les Discrets' third studio Album, "Prédateurs", after "Virée Nocturne". Apart from the two title tracks, the EP contains an additional live version of "Rue Octavio Mey" and an exclusive demo recording of "Fleur Des Murailles". An elegiac and sublime album of enraptured beauty

On their second album, "Ariettes Oubliées...", Les Discrets appear significantly matured in many aspects. Teyssier's artistic vision is clearer than ever, and his vocal performance shows a big progression in comparison to past recordings. Winterhalter contributes arguably the best and most diverse drum performance of his carreer, and the sensitive, poetic lyrics of Audrey Hadorn add a further dimension to the album. The album's tenor is more severe, yet the bittersweet melancholy and almost painful yearning - both characteristic of the debut album, "Septembre Et Ses Dernières Pensées" - here they are more moving than before. Les Discrets - Live at Roadburn from 9.59 $

On April 19th, 2013, Les Discrets gave a celebrated concert at renowned Roadburn Festival in Tilburg, Netherlands. In company with the Alcest musicians Winterhalter (drums), Neige (bass) and Zero (guitar, background vocals), mastermind Fursy Teyssier (vocals, guitar) showcased the best tunes from the first two Les Discrets albums in energetic live versions in front of an enthusiastic audience.
In retrospect, this performance carries great weight for the history of Les Discrets: as Teyssier won't be operating within the rock/metal context anymore in the future, this concert was most likely the last with emphasis on the songs of "Septembre Et Ses Dernières Pensées" and "Ariettes Oubliées" as well as their familiar arrangements. Also, the band's top-class line-up, consisting of the most influential musicians of the French post-black metal scene, was to be witnessed together on one stage probably for the last time at this event. Therefore, "Live At Roadburn" is much more than the first live album of Les Discrets. It's the culmination of the band's first creative phase.

Magical – mystical – masterful

With their debut "Septembre Et Ses Dernières Pensées" ("The Final Thoughts of September"), Fursy Teyssier and Les Discrets have created an ambitious concept album on the trinity of nature, love, and death right at the beginning of their career.

In the last few years, the French art scene had quite a few surprises in store. In the wake of exceptional bands such as Alcest and Amesoeurs, a new project proceeds to do away with France's position as exotic outsider. Originating from the same set as the above-mentioned artists, Les Discrets – the solo project of enterprising musician, filmmaker, and painter Fursy Teyssier – continues their tradition. With his debut album "Septembre et ses dernières pensées," he has created a captivating achievement far beyond a purely musical framework – a fusion of music, film, and painting that results in an oft-attempted, but seldom achieved total work of art.

Conceptually dedicated to the trinity of nature, love, and death, even the title of the album ("The Final Thoughts of September") merges with the predominant undertones. In tracks filled with thoughts of sadness and devotion such as the painfully beautiful "Chanson d'automne," the French vocals sound restrained and nearly sacral, and the guitars in "Effet de nuit" paint a misty picture of the nightside of nature. Les Discrets weave folkloristic motifs and dabs of post rock into their music in an equally fragile way, but in the end, they are only bound to themselves and to the artistic expression of this profound album.

"Septembre et ses dernières pensées" marks a brilliant start for this young project, a piece of art full of evocative power and ruminant depth that breaks fresh ground by combining music with other forms of art. Apart from a regular Digipak CD edition, "Septembre et ses dernières pensées" will also be released as a 56-page art book edition containing numerous illustrations and background information as well as Fursy Teyssier's award-winning short film "Tir Nan Og" on DVD.

Les Discrets - Virée Nocturne from 6.71 $

The 4-track EP "Virée Nocturne" is released on the occasion of Prophecy Fest 2016 and heralds Les Discrets' third album "Prédateurs" (due out in early 2017). Four years after the last studio effort, "Ariettes Oubliées", Fursy Teyssier departs from his blend of atmospheric metal and post rock, influenced by such artists as Agalloch, Anathema or early Ulver, and returns with a reinvention of Les Discrets. Drawing inspiration from acts like Portishead, Massive Attack, Lana Del Rey, Pink Floyd or Blonde Redhead, he keeps his musical core with a calmer version of Les Discrets, maintaining the inherent melancholy and melodics.

"Virée Nocturne" is not only a new start in terms of music, but also on the visual level. For the first time, Teyssier collaborates with another graphic designer on the visual appearance of a Les Discrets release. The British artist Chris Friel combines painting with photography in a unique way, a huge inspiration for Teyssier and even the guideline for the music.

Besides the title track that will also be featured on "Prédateurs", the EP features the exclusive song "Capricorni. Virginis. Corvi", a demo version of another new song ("Le Reproche") and a remix of "Virée Noturne" by progressive hip hop artist Dälek.

Lyon, France dark dreamweavers Les Discrets return with "Prédateurs", their first full-length album in five years. Ever-evolving, the sound of Les Discrets in 2017 takes a stylistic shift which sees the band's dreamy shoegaze and metallic tinged post-rock turn into dark indie rock with electronic chill while incorporating inspiration from trip-hop and 70's film soundtracks.

Described as 'the soundtrack of a slow film noir happening in a train where the journey leads the auditor to several places seen from the windows', "Prédateurs" is a cinematographic, urban album made of steel, concrete, snow and electricity. Easy on the ears, "Prédateurs" accessibility is shaped by interpreting the familiar music and melodies of Les Discrets with new instruments, approach and ambition. Although its shape has changed, the feeling of the music, its atmosphere and its essential core has remained the same. On the new album and its concepts, Fursy comments, "'Prédateurs' is a record for late evenings, night driving, journeys on a train, or for those moments we usually think about the meaning of life and things, when we have nothing else to do but sitting and waiting. Its main themes are time, nature and life."

"Prédateurs" is not only a new start in terms of music for the band, but also presents a change on the visual level. For the first time, Teyssier - himself a celebrated visual artist and animated film director - has collaborated with an outside photographer on the visual appearance of a Les Discrets release. The British artist Chris Friel, who combines painting with photography in a unique way, has become a huge inspiration for Fursy. Friel's work has even subconsciously leaked into the roadmap of the band's music.

"I feel that Les Discrets has its own wings now, free of the influences of post-rock, post-black or post-anything constraints," Fursy summarizes. "'Prédateurs' is very dark, but just like older albums, some sparks of hope remain."

Les Discrets - Split EP (Les Discrets/ Arctic Plateau) from 11.52 $

Limited split release of two close bands

Since Fursy Teyssier's work on the album artwork of Arctic Plateau's debut "On A Sad Sunny Day" a special artistic relationship has flourished between the masterminds of the musical projects Les Discrets and Arctic Plateau. Now this friendship is being celebrated with the release of a limited split MCD.
On Les Discrets' side of the split fans get an impression of the second album by Fursy Teyssier's band with "Le Mouvement Perpétuel" which comes as alternatively mixed/mastered version on this MCD only. "The Persuaders" is a cover version of the homonymous tv series' theme song and will exclusively be featured on this release! On Arctic Plateau's side the track "Music's like..." offers a taste of the album "The Enemy Inside". The demo songs "Amethyst To 'F" and "Ivory" are of special historical relevance as these are the songs which led to the contract with Prophecy Productions in 2008 and are now being released for the first time ever and exclusive to this release.
